Czech goth/post-punk group formed in 1988 by
Daniel Rodný and
Samir Hauser. The duo was joined by Petr Lhota on drums,
Ivo Jebousek on bass guitar and
Jan Gregar (later replaced by
Jaroslav Friedl) on guitar.
Their sound was dominated by gloomy keyboard lines, reverberated guitar and dark vocal, influenced by the British goth scene, notably
Joy Division, [_b_sistersofmercy Sisters of Mercy], [_b_fieldsofnephilim Fields Of The Nephilim] and [_b_thecure The Cure].
[_a_cinskactvrt Čínská Čtvrť] disbanded in 1990 when the two founding members began to devote themselves entirely to their new project
